2. Describe the work atmosphere. How are decisions made, is it cooperative or competitive, what is the dress code and work ethic of the organization?

I will focus on Crossroads Fellowship for this question as it is most applicable.

The work atmosphere at Crossroads Fellowship is great – I am able to use the tech booth in the student worship center to get most of my work done, as this area is rarely used outside of Wednesday night and Sunday morning services. Whether I am working on preparing the slides for our services or testing audio equipment, this is a good place to work. It is also nearby Aaron Pippin’s office, so I can be in communication with him about what needs to be done.

There is no required dress code at Crossroads, however I often choose to wear Crossroads Students t-shirt so that it is more clear that I am an intern. The work ethic is not always the best, since issues can go unresolved for weeks at a time. This is also a byproduct of everyone being very busy doing all sorts of jobs for the church, so little things like replacing faulty audio equipment or preparing slides for sermons ahead of time often get pushed back to the last minute.

Overall though, the work atmosphere is very good, and it makes interning there very enjoyable.

Until next time,
